These days, with the extensive learning resources available online and sites such as Wikipedia, we are now acquiring knowledge, skills and new abilities in new ways. Do you agree? Typical learning methods are classroom studies, seminars, e-learning and videos. But actual learning something is a work that starts when we reflect about something. Often it’s the informal meetings and not planned activities that makes a difference. When I was website manager for JCI UK I had lunch with three other JCI countries’ website managers.
For years I’ve been interested in how adults learn. Now, given the range of opportunities afforded by online learning, I am interested in what has remained the same and what has changed in this area. Is there a difference in how we are taught and how we actually learn compared with the past and today?
